Him containing a demon definetly should apply to him as well. AU Gul'dan does try to contain the fallen titan within him in Legion afterall. This might have been Sargerases backup plan to obtain a host later in case his transportation to Azeroth there did not work. We've all seen in Legion that Demon Hunters have a demon within them. He suddenly become good in Legion because upon his ressurection MU Gul'dan's spirit did not return to Illidan's body. It altered his toughts and actions and in consequence he became evil, even tough his original motives were good.
